Have you tried a caramel popcorn latte? It’s pretty darn tasty, even though it sounds strange. This coffee drink is a mix of the bitter chocolate notes of good coffee or espresso, with hints of vanilla and caramel, and toasted popcorn from the flavored popcorn syrup. Add in a spoon or two of Dell Cove® Salted Caramel popcorn seasoning, and this coffee drink will both wake you up and warm you up on a cold winter’s day.
Popcorn syrup is essentially a simple syrup that has been flavored to taste like popcorn. It can be tough to find in the U.S., but there are two companies we know of that make it. Monin is one – and you can find it on Amazon. But we prefer the flavor of the popcorn syrup made by 1883 Maison Routin, a French company that you can find online here.
bitter chocolate notes of espresso, hints of vanilla and caramel, and toasted popcorn from the flavored popcorn syrup. Topped with Dell Cove® Salted Caramel popcorn seasoning for a warming and delicious beverage.
Ingredients
1 oz popcorn flavored syrup (Monin makes one, but we like the one made by 1883 Maison Routin)
Pop some popcorn and set aside. Next, add your popcorn-flavored syrup and Dell Cove® Salted Caramel popcorn seasoning into your mug and set aside.
Brew up a cup of your favorite coffee. Pour the hot coffee into your mug with the syrup and seasonings – filling it up 3/4 of the way to the top. Stir well and set aside.
Then, steam your milk until frothy. Don’t have a milk frother? No problem. Get a whisk and a pan, and as your milk is heating up, vigorously whisk the milk into a froth.
Carefully pour the steamed milk over the coffee, holding some froth back with a spoon for a topping. Then, gently spoon just the front on top of the coffee – and top with a sprinkle of popped popcorn and serve.
